In May 2024, a Gresham firefighter suffered severe injuries while on a fire call. He ended up with burns on 45% of his body while responding to a house fire with reports of children inside. He has undergone many surgeries and has a long road to recovery ahead. The Clackamas Emergency Services Foundation was able to provide $10,00 to help support this firefighter and his family. Funding will be used to help on this road to recovery including modifications to his home that would be required due to his injury.
